Well, hello, and welcome to
the Schools Winning Grant Show.
I'm your host, Rody Walker.
Happy to have you for another show.
We're going to have a great time on the day,
and I've got some great information to share with you.
I hope you are tuned in and ready to buckle
your seatbelt, because I got a lot of great information
to share with you, school teachers and educators out there
to help you and your school get funded.
That's what this show is all about, nothing else.
It's about helping you to win the moolah.
Yes, that's what you want, right?
That's why you tuned in.
So with that being the case, let's get ready to dive
on in, because on today's show, I'm going to be sharing
with you some information that if you take it and listen,
if you put the information I'm going to be sharing with
you on the day into practice, my friend, you'll be writing
me real soon and saying, Rodney, guess what?
Now I'll be saying what you'll
be saying, Rodney, we got funded.
I'll be celebrating with you.
Yes, that's what I want to do.
I want to celebrate your success, and I want to share
with you today five keys for winning more school grants.
That's what I'm going to do.
I'm going to share with you those keys, and
hopefully you're going to take some action on the
information I'm going to be sharing with you, because
when people follow the information and advice that I
share, it turns into money.
Yes, that's what it turns into.
It turns into money.
So I'm going to be sharing with you five
keys that will help you and your school win.
And if that's what you want,
you are in the right place.
But before I tell you that, let me share
with you a wonderful, wonderful memory that I have
back from school, one of my favorite teachers back
in school, especially when I was in elementary school.
I've already told you about Ms.
Golightly on some of the earlier episodes, but I
want to tell you about my first grade teacher.
My first grade teacher is Ms. Summey.
Ms. Summey special lady.
I had a chance to actually teach
my first grade teacher grant writing.
Isn't that cool?
She came to a training that I
offered, and she overcame her fear of
seeking funds, actually asking for grant funding.
And it was the coolest thing.
Just in case you want to go and
hear it for yourself, go over to wowtheydidit.com
and look for Miss Summey, Patsi Summey.
I want to send a shout out to her.
She's a special lady, and I'm excited that she
was able to get funding for one of the
programs that they're doing out in the Dallas area.
Congrats to that.
Now I'm excited because I'm thinking that if she hadn't
taught me well when I was in the first grade,
I probably wouldn't be able to teach her later on.
You see how this circle kind of goes around.
And I'm hoping that as I help you and
your school to secure more funds, that more good
will continue to circulate in our world.
That's what this is all about,
making our world a better place.
And I want you to roll up your sleeves and get ready
to take some notes because I'm going to share with you some
things that you can do right now to help make the world
a better place by securing funds for your school.
Are you ready for these five things that I
have for you that will help your school?
If so, get your notes out and get ready to
take some notes and let's jot down some information that's
going to help you to secure more funds.
The first thing that I want to say
five keys for winning more school grants.
The first thing I want to encourage
you to do is to get clarity.
Yes, clarity.
The more clarity you can get about what it
is that you want, the more you will be
able to attract funds for your school.
There are a lot of schools that don't have any
clarity on what they want in terms of grant funding.
So what happens is they say,
Rodney, we want some grant funds.
I'm like, okay, great.
How much do you want?
Guess what?
They haven't defined exactly what they want.
So I could literally come and
drop two pennies in their hands.
And guess what?
They would have gotten grant funding, but they'd probably
be looking at me with the upside down smile.
They would probably be mad. What are you doing?
Give me two pennies. Tell me. Here's your grant.
Well, in one real way, that's a grant.
I gave it to them, but they
didn't know exactly what they wanted.
They didn't want the two pennies.
They wanted more funding.
So you've got to clarify what it is that you want.
The second thing is if your school is going
to get the most grant funding, it is going
to have to get focused and you're going to
have to dial in to getting the money.
Really dial in.
And that's going to take some concerted effort, but
it's going to call for you to have great
focus on exactly what you want so that you
can go after that what you want.
Is this making sense?
I hope it is the third thing that your school is going
to have to do to be able to secure the maximum funding.
And when those grants for your school and those educational
programs and those after school programs is your school is
going to need to work effectively as a team? Yes.
Teamwork helps to bring in the money.
We can't simply fit this into one person's lap.
Well, you can, but let me say this.
It won't work out to your advantage
the way it has the potential.
If you get a team, we want to get a
team because when we have a team, as the acronym
says, together, everyone accomplishes more and we can accomplish a
whole lot more in terms of securing grant funding if
we are working as a team.
The fourth thing that can help you and your
school to win more grants is if your school
will begin to have what I call weekly workshops.
This is powerful because now your school
is coming together, the people on this
team and they are working together.
They're meeting, but not just for the sake of
meeting too many groups just meet just to be
meet me and we don't want to just meet.
We want to have weekly workshops now.
What do you mean writing about weekly workshops?
I'll give you the essence of it in a nutshell.
I'm talking about when you come together
weekly, you are moving the needle forward.
There are work assignments that everyone has and
we're working together to advance the cause.
It's literally working. The game plan.
You should have a game plan that helps
your school to move forward in getting funded.
Now, the next thing that you have to
have and it is something that's very important.
If this falls apart, you don't
get funding, and that is discipline.
You're going to have to have the discipline to
do the following things that I just gave you
earlier, those things that I just mentioned earlier, all
of those things are the things you're going to
have to have the discipline to do.
You're going to have to set some times where
you guys are working together to get the funding.
Now, if you will do those five things,
those five keys help to unlock money.
I've seen it happen over and over again.
And it, my friend, can happen for you and your school.
You just got to put in a
concerted effort and make it happen.
Are you a principal?
Are you a school teacher?
Are you a leader within your
school educator, maybe a school administrator?
I don't care where you are.
Just pull together that team, rallying together.
And if you pull them together, my friend, you can go
after the money and trust me, you can secure more funds.
Why?
Because there are other schools who are not willing to
do what I've just shared with you to do.
And if you will go and do that, you
will be on the path to getting funding.
Now, if you need more help and some additional
guidance, we have so many wonderful resources here designed
to help you to secure more funds.
Go check out some of the information that
we have over at Grant Central USA.
Go, in fact, over to getfundedinnercircle.com get
a chance to hang out with me.
And maybe your school should be a part of our
next free four hour training that we have to help
schools win funds to help organizations that are trying to
do grant writing to do a more effective job.
And we offer a free training for those who are
members of our GFIC — Get Funded Inner Circle
So check that out and make sure that you
share the information I've shared with you on the
day with some other educators in your school.
Let them know, hey, there's this guy Rodney
You've got to hear what he has to say because he's
going to help our school to get funded and I look
forward to helping you and encouraging you giving you more insight
and inspiration so that you can get funding.
Now remember on our next show I'm going to
be sharing with you why clarity matters for your
schools and why it matters for any schools that
really wanting to secure more grant funding.
Make sure that you tune in and until
next time my friend, remember, be brave, be
bold, be brilliant and take charge.
I'll see you next time.
Bye.
