Well, hello there.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful,
wonderful, wonderful educator.
It sounds like I got some Echo in my Echo.
What's being said around here? What's going on?
What are you guys doing
with the recording?
Why do you have me sound
like I'm coming from a spaceship?
Well, anyway, I should blast off.
Welcome to the Schools Winning Grant show.
My name is Rodney Walker, and I'm happy
to be on today's show with you.
I'm going to be sharing with you some
information to help you and your school.
This show, again, is exclusively for schools,
schools, school districts, educational institutions that are
trying to get those mean Greens.
You know, those mean Greens.
Those mean Greens that keep the engine rolling.
That's what this show is all about.
It's 100% dedicated to educators because I think you
guys are cool and you don't get enough recognition
and you don't get enough pats on the back.
So come over and I'm going to
give you some pats on the back.
Just not them up.
Let me give you your pats on the back
right now and let you know that you're awesome.
And on today's show, that's really not a
show yet because we're just in launch phase.
We're just letting you guys know that we're coming.
And pretty soon the show is
going to actually officially launch.
And if I keep going the way I've been going,
you're going to think that it's already lunch.
So here's the thing.
The thing that I want to share with you
today that's going to be so important is why
teachers should actually well, you know what?
That was the last episode.
Rodney, get caught up.
Why should parents why should a concerned
mom or dad tune in to this show?
Well, let me tell you one reason why I might
have more than one reason, but for sure, one reason
why I'm working with some schools right now.
And we have some goals of helping the schools
to secure over $50 million over this next year.
And a few of the schools that I was talking to
is really cool that they brought on to their teams.
The teams that are going after grant funding, they
actually have some parents that are on the teams.
And I thought that was the coolest thing because
it takes a coordinated team effort to win funding.
And when we have parents and they are a
part of the team, they are more brought in.
Who cares for the kids more than the parents?
Hopefully nobody, because it's their kids.
So when you bring a parent onto
your grant development team, that's the ultimate.
And I believe that more schools who are sometimes
saying that they don't have the resources can win
even more when they start utilizing the most important
resource that they have of all.
And that, my friend, is the human resource.
Human resources are the most underutilized resource that
we've got to tap into if we're going
to begin to bring in more funding.
And it should not just be some lonesome grant
writer in some corner that you go fill those grant out
No, we can't just simply do that.
We got to empower them and help them to
be surrounded by placing a team with them.
That's one of the things that we have.
We have a training over at grantcentralusa.com in the
store that talks about team, grant writing as a team.
In fact, it's actually in our get funded
inner circle training in that whole master class.
You might want to go check
that out if you haven't already.
But I want to encourage you to do things as a team.
And one of those team members should be parents.
There are some parents that are at home
and they don't have anything to do, and
they're looking for a way to meaningfully express
themselves and do something of value.
And what better way can you help them than
to empower them, to get the knowledge, to be
able to go after grant funding and to bring
more resources so that we can have more field
trips, so that we can have more STEM problems?
Some of you have STEAM programs.
You added that a you bought the arts into it.
And I think that's really cool.
Some of you have other programs that right now are
simply not being done because you don't have the funds.
And we got to turn that
around because our students deserve it.
Our classrooms deserve it.
You as a teacher, you deserve to have the
resources that keep you on the cutting edge.
You need tablets in your classrooms.
You know what you need?
I don't have to tell you what you need.
Some of you need new facilities,
okay, new books, new resources.
But whatever the need is, we want to pull in a team.
And that's why you've heard me talk about why we need
actually principals and why we need to have teachers and why
we need to have parents listening to the show.
But in addition to that, you know what I think we
might need to get can we get that parakeet over there?
Bring the parakeet on the show as well.
We need to get everybody on the team dialed in,
because what happens when you start charging up that team?
When I say charging up, I
mean, when you start providing them. Yes.
With something to help them, that's going
to help them to start doing things
differently, it becomes really powerful.
It becomes something that they can begin to
build upon when you give them a charge.
And a charge can be a boost.
And I'm hoping that this show will be
a boost just to boost an ideal, boost
some creativity, boost some call to action.
You've been talking about writing grants and securing
grants for your school for a long time.
Let this be just one of the motivating factors
to help push you in the right direction.
That's what my hopes are for you.
My friend.
As you go down this road, as you go down this journey,
I want to be there for you and I want to let
you know that Rodney Walker believes in what you're doing.
That's one of the reasons that I'm doing this
show just to let you know that you're not
by yourself, that someone is dialed in with you.
So if you are a parent and
you're wondering, what can I do? What should I do?
How can I go about getting these grants?
Well, first of all, get on the team and if your
school does not have a team, go to that Principal.
say, "Hey, you need to listen to this."
Listen in and I'm listening in and may we share that
other podcasts that we have for teachers share with
them and begin to rally a team around.
Let them know that you're interested
in going after some grant funding.
You can be the spark of change.
You can be the spark of hope for
your school and you won't believe what's possible
and what can happen when you do so.
I never will forget if you go on YouTube,
type in Rodney Walker Grant Central USA intern.
I was an intern who was working in this lady
had never written a grant before and she just went
at it and before you know it $500,000.
Yes, a half a million dollars later she was
able to bring some funds to their organization.
My friend, the same as possible with you.
So I want to encourage you to be
brave, be bold, be brilliant, take charge and
remember go subscribe, go check it out.
Go to Apple podcasts, go to Spotify, go over to
Google podcasts, go to YouTube, go to all of them.
Go to one of them.
Go subscribe and I'll see you next time, my friend.
Be be brave, be bold, be brilliant.
Take charge and have a great day.
Let's make a change.
