Get Funded with Rodney Well, hello, and welcome to
the Get Funded with Rodney Show.
I'm your host, Rodney Walker.
And on today's show, we're gonna have a great time.
I'm excited about you being here, my friend.
And I want you right now to just
dial in, care what you're doing right now.
I want you to put that stuff aside and dial
in because we're going to have a great time.
I've got some great information for you, and we're going
to be sharing with you that IQ boost, as always.
And I've got a good one for you on today.
And in addition to that, I have some other announcements
and some things that you don't want to miss.
So you want to make sure that
you stick around to the end.
In fact, we're going ahead to have a town hall meeting.
I'm going to tell you all about that at the very end.
And I'm going to be sharing with
you today two mistakes that veteran grant
writers make when applying for grants.
Yes, you veterans.
You make some mistakes, too.
I'm going to be sharing some information with you
to help you to stop making those mistakes.
You don't want to keep making mistakes, do you?
Yes, I know those are the things that keep us
from getting funded, and we want to correct those.
We want to continue to get better.
I hope you want to get better.
I want to get better.
And on today, I'm going to be sharing with
you some ways that you can get better.
So how have you been?
I've been doing great.
I've been just busy in a good,
fun way, in a really productive way.
And so I'm excited to be able to
share with you today something that's going to
help to take the needle forward.
We want to keep moving the needle forward.
That means getting better and better every single day.
And when we get better and better every single day,
my friend, before you know it, you look over your
shoulder and you will see a world of progress.
And that's what I'm hoping for you.
I'm hoping that you're not stagnant.
I don't want to see you stagnant.
I want to see you growing.
Yes, I want to see you growing.
I want to see you getting bigger and better.
I want to say badder, not bad in a
negative way, but badder in a good way.
I want to see you.
I want to see the superhero in you come out.
And so with your grant writing efforts, as you continue,
I want to share with you something that's going to
help you to take your game to the next level.
Now, as always, I always share with you
one thing that you don't know about, one
thing that you don't know about me.
I do professional photography on the side, and as a
hobby, I've been doing photography since I had a hairline.
And, you know, that's been a long time ago
when I first started, I think it was probably
around the 8th grade or something, but everybody is
a photographer now, especially with these cameras.
You probably are shooting some things as well.
Hopefully, my friend, you are using photography
and photos inside of your grants.
It can help to enhance the message
that's a whole another conversation that we're
going to save for another day.
I got an IQ boost that's being brought to you
on today by none other than iGrantwriters.com.
Remember, if you're looking for a grant writer,
looking to hire a grant writer, looking to
get a job as a grant writer, to
get discovered as a grant writer, remember it's.
igrantwriters.com it is the place to be.
And today's IQ boost is this.
People ask people ask, what's the
best role you've ever played?
The next one says Calvin Klein. Okay.
People ask, what is the best role you've ever played?
The next one, what's your next big role?
What is the next big role that you're going to play?
And I'm hoping that you're not simply
living on your victories from the past.
I'm hoping that you're looking over
your shoulders and remembering them.
But I'm really hoping that you are moving
forward and that your next big play.
The big role that you're going to play is
the next thing because the best, my friend, if
you will look forward, is yet to come.
With that being said, my friend, I'm going
to be sharing with you two big mistakes
that I've seen veteran grant writers make.
You veterans out there sending shouts out to you today.
In fact, I'm toasting you today because you hung
in there for a while and that's fantastic.
We need you.
We need people that don't just give up.
And the fact that you haven't given up is great.
Now let me share with you two mistakes
that I've seen veteran grant professionals make.
Here's the first one.
The first one is taking the funder for granted.
You know what I mean?
Assuming that you are a mind reader and
making mistakes of putting all the weight simply
on the grant proposal as the only thing
that is needed in order to get funded.
Now, I know you're good at writing
grants, Grant Professional. But here's the thing,
I want to encourage you to pick up the phone.
You heard me.
Pick up the phone. Why?
Because we're in a relationship business.
And even though you know how to write a grant
proposal, we both know that people are influenced by people.
People give to people.
And so we've got to make sure that we're
sticking to building relationships while also working their proposal.
Now, if you don't know what to say, I've got some
other things to help you with that, but we want to
make sure that we continue to enhance those relationships.
The second thing that I've seen
is no longer being curious.
This is a big mistake when you're no longer
curious I mean, curious about ways to enhance your
work, your proposals, what the funder needs, not being
curious about ways to make the proposal better.
That means that you've stopped growing.
And remember, that is the road to death.
When you're not growing, that means you're dying.
And we want to get better.
I want to see you get better, my friend.
And the reason I want to see you get better
is because if we can help you to start thinking
different and continuously moving forward and getting better, think about
your plants that you have at your house.
If you don't water the plants, they're going to die.
They need sunshine and they need water.
And so what I'm saying to you, as a
grant professional, you should continuously be getting better.
That's one of the reasons why we have
the Get Funded Inner Circle, my friend.
We meet and we hang out so
that you can continue to get better.
We have those master classes and we have
courses so that you can refresh yourself.
I want to see you refresh.
I don't want to see you drain.
I want to see you doing your best.
And so if you're curious about that, go check
that out over at getfundedinnercircle.com learn about it.
Maybe come and hang out with me.
I would love to hang out with you.
Now, let me tell you, before I get ready to
get out of here about that town hall meeting.
Yes, we'll be having a town hall meeting on Wednesday.
This up and coming Wednesday.
We're going to be hanging out for about an hour.
I want you to go over
to grantcentralusa.com right now and register.
And you can register.
There's a link at the very top and
join me for the town hall meeting.
Come and hang out with me.
I'm going to be sharing with you
a lot of things that are happening.
We've got so much that's happening.
I don't have time to tell you about it right now.
And it's some cool things that's going
to help you as a grant professional.
In fact, I can't even begin to tell
you I'm excited about it because it's going
to help you in some very practical ways
to increase your success as a grant professional.
And it's going to help you to be able
to bring in more dollars for your Grant business.
If you have a business and if you don't
have a business, we've got some other resources that's
going to help you in a profound way.
So I'm going to tell you about those.
In fact, let me tell you this.
I'm going to let the cat out the back right
now and just share with you a couple of things.
We got some new podcasts that are
designed to help you to grow.
And I'm going to be explaining the purposes of them
and also how you can possibly be a guest on
some of them that we have coming out real soon.
Let me tell you about one.
I know the town hall meeting hasn't started.
I'm just going to tell you about one of them right now.
One of them really quickly
is called Grant Writing Today.
Now this is a different show.
You got to come and hang out with me
and I'm going to tell you all about it.
We also have the Grant Business Show.
Now if you want to know about both of
these shows real quickly just go over to grantwritingtoday.com
and check that one out and then the other
one is the Grant Business Show.
Go to grantbusinesshow.com and you can
check that one out as well.
Remember I want you to follow
me my friend, on social media.
Let's come and hang out connect with me and on my
next show I'm going to be sharing with you how to
regain your love for Grant writing when it has flickered.
Are you flickering out over there?
I'm going to show you how to rekindle that
fire on the next episode so make sure my
friend, that you come tune in, hang out with
me and we're going to have a great time.
And until then I want you to be
brave, I want you to be bold.
I want you to be brilliant
and take charge. Grant nation,
I'm out of here.
