Get Funded with Rodney
Well, hello, my friend, and welcome to
the Get Funded with Rodney show.
I'm your host, Rodney Walker, and I'm thrilled. Yes.
Thrilled.
I feel like I feel like thriller around here.
I think I want to get on my toes
and do one of those moves like MJ.
Did back in the day when he had those white socks on.
That's what I feel like right now.
I'm thrilled that you are taking the
time to tune in to this show.
I've got some good stuff for you on today.
In fact, I'm going to be sharing with you that
IQ boost, and it's going to boost you up.
I've also got some exciting news to
share with you about some of the
exciting things that we're doing around here.
And I've also got some information that's
going to help you, especially if you're
trying to get foundation grants.
In fact, today I'm going to be sharing with
you how to find foundation grants for your nonprofits.
Now, you know that your nonprofit meets some of these
grants, and I'm going to be sharing with you some
ways to go about finding foundation grants in particular and
some of the tools that you may be able to
use that you may not know about.
And even if you already know about some of the tools,
I'm going to share with you some smarter ways to use
those tools to be able to maximize your funding.
You see, when people hang out with me
like you're doing right now, they get funded.
They get funded.
In fact, to the tune
of over $450,000,000,000 have come.
And truthfully, I stopped counting because
I can't count that high. Okay.
So the bottom line is this.
I want you to dial in today, I'm going to share
with you some information that's going to help you.
I'm also going to share with you one thing that you don't
know about me that I want to share with you today to
help you to get to know me a little bit better.
So stay tuned...

I know you think you know
everything about me, but you don't.
I'm about to blast off on you. Yes.
In fact, I'm going to blast off on you
because one of the things that you don't know
about me, I want to share a secret fantasy. Yes.
I'm going to lift the hood and share with you
one fantasy that you don't know that I have.
And I've been having this fantasy ever since.
What grade was that? 7th grade. 8th grade. I know.
I was in middle school, okay.
And it happened because one night
I already know how it happened. Okay. You don't have to.
Applause thank you for applause, but
I don't really need it. Okay.
But it happened when I was in seven or eight grade.
Well, let me tell you first of
all, what the secret fantasy is, okay?
The secret fantasy that most people don't know that
I'm going to share with you today is and
I've had this fantasy since the 7th grade.
Okay, eight grade maybe.
Well, anyway, I had this fantasy of flying.
It yes, I have a secret fantasy of being able
to get my cape and just take off in
the air and just blast off and start flying.
And I think what happened was I was
looking at this show and I fell asleep.
And the show has this guy who was like a
kind of quasi superhero and he was able to fly.
And so I'm like, hey, I want to fly.
So I think it hit my subconscious.
But the bottom line, that was
one of my secret fantasies.
So if you ever hear these blasts off, taking off
inside of our show, just know it is right.
They're trying to blast off because he wants to fly.
Okay.
With that being said, my friend,
I've shared with you one fantasy.
I want to share with you an IQ boost.
Today's IQ boost is being
bought to you by iGrantwriters.com.
Remember when you are looking to hire grant writer when
you are looking to get hired as a grant writer,
if you want to know where the place is, the
place to be is, iGrantwriters.com go check it out and
make sure you claim your free membership over in
iGrantwriters.com if you are a grant professional.
Now with that being said, today's IQ boost
is coming from none other than Mr. Suave
Mr. Smooth
Frank Sinatra.
And Frank Sinatra said these words.
Get Funded with Rodney
He said the best revenge is massive success.
I know you're trying to get back at some of
those situations that happened to you a long time ago
and you want to do some things that may not
be in your best interest to do.
So what Frank is saying to us today is
the best revenge is just going to be successful.
Let them eat that success cake that you Bake for them.
Let them eat that. Okay.
So I want to encourage you to roll up
your sleeves, put in the work, take some
action and put some action towards being successful.
And there's so many ways that you can be successful.
Remember, I share with you on one of the
other shows a great quote that came from Albert
Einstein who says, don't even seek to be successful,
just become a person of value.
And when you begin to do that, you begin to
attract success and you become a success, my friend.
So with that being said, I'm
excited to share that with you.
I also want to share with you how
to find foundation grants for your nonprofit.
And on today, I'm going to share with you a
few ways real quickly that I believe will help you.
Now, the first thing I want to encourage you
to do is now let me say this.
First of all, there are so many different
ways to go about doing this, but I
want you to become effective and very efficient.
And there are some ways that are less
efficient and less effective, but I'm going to
just share with you some general ways.
Now, the general ways that most people go
about doing this, they start doing a Google
search, and that's not always bad.
You may be able to find a few funders that
way, but you won't find the numbers in an organized
way that will be as effective for you.
So that leads me to another way.
If you already know of a funder or have
heard of some funders, you can go directly to
those agencies, websites and you can learn information about
the grant opportunities that they have.
There a third way that tends to
be a little bit more popular with
grant professionals is they use online databases.
And one of the ones that is
well known comes from an organization called
the Foundation Center, namely now Candid. Okay.
And with it, they have an online database that
you can access, and it has a massive amount
of information in a very organized way.
So you can literally go in, type in the
area of interest, and it will literally pull down
for you all of the funders in a specific
area that are likely to give to your interest.
And the best thing about it
is you can access this information. Absolutely.
F - R - E - E at your local library.
Get Funded with Rodney
If they are one of the partner
members that are connected with them. Okay.
So I want to encourage you to go check that out.
If not, you can go and get yourself a subscription for
a month, get all the information that you need, and then
kind of go from there, and then you can get rid
of your membership if you like to that way.
So there are different ways of going at it.
Another thing I want to share with you in
regards to this that I think is really important
is pulling together a fund development report.
Now, this is a report where all of those
funders that are likely to give funding to you
are placed in a well organized binder
And I don't have time to go into great
detail about this, but I will say this.
We had one of our GFIC members that
went through one of our trainings that we
had, and she used that information and turned
it into thousands of dollars for herself because
she started doing funding reports for various organizations.
Yes.
Not just one for various organizations and
help to raise money for them.
More money for them, but also money for herself
because she was doing this as a business.
Go check out that training.
It's inside of our GFIC membership program.
If you are not familiar with GFIC,
that is the Get Funded Inner Circle.
And if you go over to getfundedinnercircle.com,
you can learn more information about that.
Sign up, become a member.
I look forward to seeing you in there.
Now, my friends I want you today to come and hang out
with me if you are brand spanking new to grant writing.
Now, I know I got some old heads
around here and I love you guys, too. Okay.
But today's training is for those newbies okay.
Over at becomeagrantwriter.com.
If you go over today, you and I can hang out.
I got a very special trainer that's going to
teach you how to do more effective grant writing.
It's going to give you a
great overview, some other wonderful information.
So go check that out and sign up.
I look forward to hanging out with
you a little bit later on today.
And with that being said, my friend, on our next
show, I'm going to be sharing with you information that
is going to help you in a very powerful way.
Now here's what's going to happen.
Is this still a good time to become a grant writer?
Yes, that's what I'm going to be
answering for you on the next show.
So you want to make sure that you come and hang
out with me, because I'm going to be sharing with you
more information that's going to tell you whether or not this
is a good time to become a grant writer.
And if so, what to do?
And if not, what to do.
You want to come and hang out with me, my friend.
And until we get a chance to hang
out again, I just want to encourage you.
Sometimes life can be tough and sometimes you can be
going through and wondering what steps to take next.
I want to let you know that I am on your
side and I'm on your side because I believe in you.
Now, I don't care if anybody listen.
I don't care if your dog has given up
on you or your friend or your parakeet.
I don't care.
I want you to know today Rodney Walker believes
in you and he is standing with you.
Listen, that's why I'm doing this podcast right now.
I want to share hope with you.
I want to share with you possibility because I
know what it is to be down and out.
And I also know what it is to be on top.
And I know that you my friend.
If you dig deep, if you dig deep, can make
a transition and go to the top, I believe it.
There's nothing you can say
that can convince me otherwise.
I'm cheering for you, my friend, and I want
you today to be brave, to be bold. Yes.
You know what I want you to be?
I want you to be brilliant.
And then in addition to being brilliant, you
know what I want you to do?
I want you to not stand on a
curve, which is lips all poked out.
I want you to take charge. Yes!
You know what I mean when I
say be brilliant, let me explain myself.
I mean, use that brain that you have up there.
I want you to be bold.
Stop being a scary cat.
Be bold and go take some action.
Go make some magic, my friend.
Because I believe in you. And with that said.
Take charge, Grant nation. I'm out of here.
