So I'm going to be sharing with you how to do that.
You do want to know how to do that, right?
Well, I hope you do, because on today's
show, we'll be sharing with you how to
turn any Grant proposal into a winner.
I know you've got some proposals out
there that are suffocating right now.
They're on their last breath. But guess what?
We're going to resuscitate.
In fact, let me call 911 right now.
We have a proposal over here that just
died and we got to resuscitate it.
So get ready.
That's what we're going to do on this show.

you don't know is I attended the University of
Texas. Yes, Hook 'em Horns! And I attended on an academic scholarship.
But here's the thing that
you don't know.
I think it's worth me sharing with you.
I almost lost that academic scholarship.
Yes, I did, because when I first went
down to the University of Texas, my study
skills were not where they needed to be.
And I was making a transition from
living at home to been away.
And I just didn't have all those things tight, okay?
And so I was all over the place.
I almost had to give up my scholarship.
I had to go back and talk to the Dean and
tell the Dean, in fact, let me be honest with you.
My mother and I, we went down and she had a baby.
"Could you let my son in one more semester?
He'll do better."
And I was like, "Yeah, I will do better."
What am I telling you all this for?
I'm sure this is what you say.
Hey, you sometimes look at the end result of a
person and where they're at now and the success they
have, but you don't know all those victories that were
not victories that had to be turned around.
And what I'm saying to you, if I could
turn it around, you can turn it around.
And it's the same way, my friend, that we're
going to help you to turn that losing Grant
proposal into a winning Grant proposal because I want
to see you win it's enough of losing. Okay?
Yes, we lose.
That's some important lessons that we've got to learn.
But if you really want to get
funded, you've got to turn things around.
I believe that's why you're here on the
day, because you want to turn things around.
And guess what?

So with that being said, let's talk about how
do you turn any Grant proposal into a winner. Yes.
Do I need to call 911 again?
Hold on one second.
We need some help over here.
Okay, so here's what we're going to do to
turn that losing Grant proposal into a winner.
And I'm assuming, first of all, that it is a loser.
Yes, it's okay.
We let losers hang around for a little
bit because we're going to convert them.
We're going to convert them into winners.
So the first thing you got to do, my friend,
to convert their proposal into a winner is contact the
funder to see if they're open to having a discussion
with you about the proposal and see what lessons you
can learn to fix it for the next time, even
if you apply to a different funder.
We want to get those lessons because losers talk and
we want to listen to what the losers are saying.
Those losing proposals.
What can we learn from this proposal?
What can we do to make it better?
Yes, we can make it better.
Secondly, you want to get the score of your proposal.
If it's a government Grant proposal through the Freedom of
Information Act, you want to get that information so that
you can see, "Hh, this is where we were weak.
This is where we could become stronger."
And third, my friend, you want to have two or
three people review your Grant proposals and evaluate it.
If you can get some friends that are funders
are either some friends that are Grant professionals or
some other friends that can just read over your
proposal and see what didn't make sense to them.
My friend, that goes a long way.
Number four, you also want to make
those corrections and improvements to the proposal.
And then the fifth thing you want to do, my
friend, is you want to resubmit it to another funder.
What I'm saying is don't give up.
Yes! Keep trying!
Do you think that every time you submit
a proposal, you're going to win? My friend,
are you crazy over there?
Stop acting crazy and know that every single
time you apply, you're not going to win.
There are so many different factors.
So get up, pick yourself up and reapply.
