I'm your host, Rodney Walker.

We're gonna have a great time.
I'm going to share some great information with you.
And you, my friend, are going
to continue, continue to win. Yes.
This is a show for winners.
It is a business show dedicated 100% to
grant businesses and those who are seeking to
grow or start a grant business.

Have I told you that lately?
Yes, I do like "Rodney, you don't even know me."
Yes, I know that.
But I know that you're smart because you're here
and you have come or maybe come back.
And that shows me that you've got
some determination and some will to succeed.
And I like people who don't give up
easy when you are doing a business.
A business is probably one of the most challenging
things that you will ever do in your life. Why?
Because most of us have been trained by school to
be employees, to be workers, and to be an entrepreneur.
It calls for a different set of skills, and
that's why you've got to learn these skills.
Now, here's the interesting thing.
A lot of times when you're doing business, when you
first come into business, a lot of people don't succeed
and they don't succeed because of this one thing that
I'm about to tell you about right now.
Can you guess what that one thing is? Yeah.
They don't succeed because they haven't
been trained in some certain areas.
Think about it for a second.
Some business don't succeed because you have somebody
who learned how to do grant writing.
And then they came over and said, you know what?
I'm gonna do a grant writing business.
But think about it this way.
Let's get out of business for 1 second.
When you get ready to learn how to
drive before you get your license, you have
to go through driver's ed, right?
You have to go through training.
They're not going to hand you a gun
license until you have experienced some training.
You got to be trained.
So what makes it that a grant business just starts and
only knows how to do grant writing, but they don't know
how to sell and they don't know how to market.
My friend, you got to get trained because it's just like
trying to get your driver's license when you haven't been trained
to learn how to drive and in the same way you
have to learn how to sell and how to do marketing.
And it's something that every
business owner should know.
You should have somebody on your
team that also knows it.
So just in case something happens to you, they
can pick up the baton and begin to run.
You see, we've got to get sales processes in.
And I want you to rate yourself
on a scale from one to ten.
On a scale from one to ten,
one being low, ten being high.
How comfortable are you with selling your services?
What about marketing? The same thing.
On a scale of one to ten,
how comfortable are you with marketing?
Truth be told, most grant
professionals actually suck at marketing.
And this is their Achilles Heel.
They are afraid to market. Why?
Because nobody has taught them how.
They haven't been trained, and rightfully so.
You should be afraid if you
don't know what you're doing.
If you've never driven an 18 Wheeler and you
just hop into that 18 Wheeler and start driving.
Yes, you should be afraid. Why?
Because you're probably going to crash into something.
You don't know how to do all those. How many gears?
I don't know how many gears they have, but it's a lot.
You don't know how to do that.
So you're now in an 18 Wheeler.
You're about to crash, my friend.
Well, I don't wish that on you.
I'm just saying, you know what I mean?
Don't get in an 18 Wheeler
when you haven't been trained.
And I'm saying in that same way, don't try to do
a grant business without getting some type of sales training.
Read some books on the topic, take some trainings.

How can I talk to someone about that?
Because I know how there are systems.
And once you have systems, my friend, it
makes it easy to make that a reality.

You see, we got to fix this because here's what
happens if we don't fix this whole marketing thing.
That means that you're not getting sales.
You see, you should have a consistent and steady
flow of new prospects coming your way every day.
If that's not happening, my friend, that
means right now that you don't have
the systems in place to attract them.
When you have a steady flow of leads coming your
way, eventually, if you know how to do the sales,
you should have more sales as a result.
So if I have every day a couple of clients
coming my way, at the end of that week, I
should have at least ten people coming my way.
And if I know how to close the deal, then I should
have more sales now as a result of having more sales.
That's going to provide me with more capital.
And the more capital that I have, it
creates more opportunities for me to create more
flows for more money to come in.
But if we don't have those systems
in place, everything is a wreck.
And that's why, my friend, I want to encourage
you to seriously look at taking some type of
sales training as well as some type of marketing
training to help grow your business.

and over again and expecting different results.
I don't want you going insane.
We got to do some things different.
And the beautiful thing is you can do it.
You're one step away.
